This is our last posting on this blog. There are things that will be useful to others, in particular the pages. The site gets hits every day, which is a little surprise to use. So, we will leave the material for the benefit of others. We have started a new blog, specifically looking on the inside of living in prison, faith and the heart, in UK. Hanging on in difficult circumstances
News. I know quite a few blog readers have followed Wanda and my adventures in recent times, thank you indeed for your interest. So I am taking the liberty to let you in on some good news.  And reflect on it. Please free to press [Delete] anytime.
Prison Fellowship had a vacancy for a head of finance, a permanent full time position. I went for two interviews and last week I was offered the position.
Happy. I am delighted. They are a Christian organisation working in prisons helping offenders come to terms with their deeds (running restorative justice courses funded by the Prison Service), helping prisoners keep in touch with their families (arranging presents to be purchased and sent to their children), and helping them relate to non-offenders (by a letter writing programme), http://www.prisonfellowship.org.uk/.

Going to work for a remote hospital in Uganda will bring its challenges, colour and adventures.  But are there not challenges and drama to be had here too?  Doesn’t the RNIB Community Living Service in Redhill, Surrey have a worthwhile task to do?  Challenges to meet?  Dramas to overcome? (more…)

Deputation – without pretending? 22 October 2007

Do we pretend when we turn up and speak or preach in a Church?  No one there knows us.  We can sound really keen, really pious.  Or is it as Jesus acidly said – beautifully done on the outside, but rotting flesh onside?  Well – we like to think we are keen.  But we admit “the heart is deceitful – who can understand it?”
