Just a quick line for those wanting more information on living and working in Kisiizi or the immediate area.  We have added a new page called Kisiizi Life. In it you will find more on Kisiizi Peoples (tribal groups), the Weather and Kisiizi Birds, which is a page we’ve had for a while and gets quite a few hits.

If you have any ideas as to what else should be put here, let me know.  Perhaps: food (mmm..),  weddings and funerals, football (Premier League, Serie A, Budseleage – indeed they are most interested). Potentially having no electricity for the World Cup was considered a potential catastrophe.

Disability Visiting in the Hills

As well as public health, Wanda has been involved in disabilities support too.  She has been able to give a more holistic training to the Rehabilitation Worker. Because of the theory-practice gap that is common in The Hospital, Wanda has been going out with the Rehab worker and providing on-the-spot training while seeing children, practical training.  This meant regular trips out into the hills on the back of the rehab motorbike with their kit tied on at the back

Living out of suitcases- such fun?

When we told Bishop Edward we were not going back to Kisiizi, he said “Bill and Wanda, remember Bishop Hannington (who was an early martyr for the faith) and Bishop Tucker. Do not take the easy way out”.  After 12 bed changes we’ve made since we’ve been back, after 27 meetings with groups, churches and individuals, after the suitcases + plastic bags we live out of, Bishop – the easy way out is back to Kisiizi! We will unpack why we are not going back to Kisiizi in our next supporters Link Letter, out soon. (more…)
